Bath salts in a ceramic dish beside a rolled towel, a brush and a round soap

You’ll need

Also useful: colloidal oats, Epsom salts and a clean glass jar.

1

Combine

In a clean, dry jar, mix 200g of Epsom salts with 4 tablespoons of colloidal oats.

2

Scent

Add up to 8 drops of lavender essential oil and stir well, breaking up any clumps.

3

Rest

Close the jar and leave it for a day so the scent spreads through the salts.

4

Soak

Add half the jar to a warm bath and stir until the salts dissolve.

A note on safety

Essential oils should not be used neat on the skin; mixing them into the salts first helps them spread through the water. Keep the jar dry and use it within three months.
